Tipi Cabins at Aurora Safari Camp
Aurora Safari Camp has three Tipi Cabins designed for both seclusion and immersion. Each cabin is kept at a warm, steady temperature with a hybrid system of electrical heating and a pellet burner (a stove that automatically burns wood pellets) that adds warmth and ambiance with a crackling enclosed flame.
The Tipi Cabins have glass verandas that face north with clear views of the sky, designed to spot the aurora from your doorstep. Each Tipi Cabin has an an en-suite bathroom with incineration toilet and wash basin. We can accommodate single, double, twin or family bookings with the option to customise your Tipi Cabin by including up to four beds.
Bathing & Sauna
In winter there are two choices for a traditional wood-fired sauna session. The Sauna in the Ice sits frozen into the lake, and the Forest Sauna is just a short walk from the Tipi Cabins. There is also a 12-volt shower system and a changing room in both saunas. We ensure that guests have private timeslots to enjoy the sauna and shower facilities.
Included Activity Equipment
Stays at Aurora Safari Camp always include access to the activity equipment below, along with additional winter clothing as needed. Our hosts are always happy to get you started with the equipment and show you the trails, so you are free to explore. If you prefer a more structured experience, we also offer fully guided trips at an additional charge.
Snowshoes
Snowshoes are ideal for trekking in deep winter, uniquely designed for walking on powdery snow without sinking. We offer guided tours by snowshoe day or night, whether you’re hoping to explore under the sun or stars.
Nordic skis
Cruise along the designated tracks or go off the beaten path and explore the untouched wilderness with our Nordic skis. Whether a seasoned pro or first-timer, this is a great way to take in the surroundings at your own pace, whether that’s a leisurely glide or a winter workout.
Winter bikes
Adapted for snowy terrains with extra wide tyres, these mountain bikes are ideal for riding the tracks across the frozen lake.
