A guided journey around Gunnarsbyn, while learning about the history and culture of our local village and its significance in Norrbotten. Gunnarsbyn is a quaint village but also a melitng pot of culture: those who have lived in the area for generations are neighbours with many that have moved to the Arctic from across the world. The tour covers all facets of village life, from the cooperative store to the Folkets Hus (“The Peoples House” which is also the local cinema) to Forsberg mansion – a historic house almost unchanged since the 1930s. Here you will stop inside for fika – hot drinks and something sweet. Although the walk only covers a total of 1.5km, there are many significant stops along the way, and shows just how much life there is in this small but significant village.
