Summer & Autumn at Aurora Safari Camp

Swedish Lapland is defined by its seasons of contrast, and summer is a very special time of year here. From early June to mid-July Aurora Safari Camp is lit by the glow of the midnight sun, with 24 hours of sunlight. In berry picking season from Mid-July to August, the surrounding forest becomes a foraging wonderland, and late August often sees the return of the Northern Lights.

These long summer days allow plenty of time for relaxation and adventure, which is what our Floating Safari Camp was built for. Floating off the shore of Aurora Safari Camp is our own custom-built glamping raft where you can swim, paddle, fish, sauna, barbecue and stay the night in high-quality safari tents. This secluded spot is available for private hire, or our hosts can join to cook up an alfresco feast.

Summer & Autumn prices start from 11,100 SEK per night, based on double occupancy.

Forest Sauna

Take a rejuvenating steam while feeling at one with the forest, in our wood-fired sauna just a short walk from the Tipi Cabins. The Forest Sauna is also equipped with a 12-volt shower and changing room. We always ensure that guests have private timeslots to enjoy the sauna and shower facilities.

Dining Cabin

Over the summer we open up the doors of the dining cabin to serve alfresco dinners on the veranda, using seasonal produce that is in bounty over the Swedish foraging season. The dining cabin is also our lounge, where you sit inside by the fireplace after a day in the sun with the evening light glowing through the windows.

Included Activity Equipment

Stays at Aurora Safari Camp include access to the activity equipment below, along with life jackets. Our hosts are always happy to get you started with the equipment and show you where to go, so you can explore the waterways and forest trails. If you prefer a more structured experience, we also offer fully guided trips at an additional charge.

Canoes

Explore the serene waterways surrounding the camp with a leisurely paddle. The calm waters of the surrounding Lake Degerslet are open to all levels of experience, whether you’re a seasoned paddler or first-timer.

We provide the essentials for a relaxed afternoon by the shore: rods, reels, bait and life jackets – so you can try your luck in the waters surrounding the camp. For those wishing for a more in-depth fishing experience with professional equipment, we offer private fishing tours at an additional cost.
